Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use cask.studio. This page says how far we are, and what is still missing.
What this covers
This statement covers the website at cask.studio. It does not cover the Cask Film and Cask Flow apps for macOS, or pages served from edge.cask.studio.
The standard we follow
We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That is the level the European standard EN 301 549 asks of websites, and the level the European Accessibility Act points to.
Where we are
cask.studio is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. Some parts do not meet the standard yet. They are listed below.
How we checked
On 1 October 2026, we tested every page of the site with axe-core, an automated accessibility checker, at a desktop width and a phone width. It found 3 problems on 4 pages: text with too little contrast on the journal, Privacy Policy and Terms pages, and a table on the Cookie Policy that a keyboard could not scroll. We fixed all of them. The same test now finds none.
An automated test finds only part of what WCAG asks. We have not yet had a full manual audit, or tested the site with screen reader users.
Known limitations
- Product recordings on the home, Cask Film and Cask Flow pages play on their own and loop, with no pause button. They stop when your device is set to reduce motion. A pause control is planned.
- The recordings have no sound. The text beside each one says what it shows, but not every step in it.
- The Privacy Policy and Terms load from our API. If it does not answer, the page shows a link to the document instead.
Feedback
If something on the site does not work for you, email [email protected]. Tell us the page and what went wrong. If you need information from the site in another format, ask at the same address.
Enforcement
In the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Consument & Markt (ACM) supervises the European Accessibility Act. If our answer does not solve the problem, you can report it to the ACM through acm.nl.
